Catering to success in hospital care

Tim oversees the cold plate commercial kitchen operations at Eastern Health, managing a team of catering Placemakers, who serve some 1,200 meals per day. He ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality meals, adhering to strict health and safety standards, and meeting the diverse dietary needs of the hospital community.

Tim’s leadership has significantly contributed to the success and innovation of ISS' catering services for Eastern Health. Recently, he helped to drive the successful roll-out of new regethermic food trolleys at eastern Health's Box Hill and Wantirna sites, boosting service delivery and patient satisfaction. Tim shares his daily motivation for service excellence and how he inspires his team to achieve the same.

What inspired you to join ISS?
My decision to join ISS was driven by my aspiration to work within the public sector while seeking avenues for career advancement. ISS stood out to me for its commitment to empowerment, fostering innovation, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

What has motivated you at your workplace?
Over the years, my motivation has stemmed from the exceptional support provided by our management team. They have consistently provided me with opportunities to expand my skill set, explore new initiatives, and implement innovative ideas. This environment of encouragement has fuelled my drive for constant improvement.

Has a workplace mentor inspired you?
I have been fortunate to have a mentor in my manager, John, whose unwavering support and personable nature have been instrumental in my professional development. John's guidance has not only supported the success of my projects but has also inspired and empowered our entire team to achieve success collectively.

How have you seen ISS evolve?
In observing the evolution of ISS, I've noted a steadfast commitment to quality as a foundational principle. Quality is not just an aspiration but an inherent part of our organisational ethos. We are constantly vigilant in our efforts to ensure that the highest standards of service delivery are maintained, driving continuous improvement initiatives to uphold these standards at all times.

Teamwork at all times

Tim says: "I particularly remember our collective effort to navigate the challenges presented during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Working together, we supported both the community and local hospitals by fulfilling additional requirements and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. This experience underscored the importance of teamwork and community support during times of crisis."

Tim and his team have supported the introduction of 17 state-of-the-art Regethermic food trolleys, elevating patient care standards. This innovative upgrade ensures premium food and safety, enhancing patient satisfaction.
