Bond Uni Selects ISS for Cleaning Services / 2009 - ISS     Bond University, Queensland

Bond University has selected ISS to provide cleaning services for its Gold Coast campus after more than a decade with a rival company.

ISS was selected on the basis of its extensive experience within the education sector, clear methodology for the execution of the contract, and the transparency of its pricing framework.

“At each stage of the negotiations, we emphasised ISS’ hands-on management approach. In addition to two senior managers who live on the Gold Coast, we also have a dedicated management team and site supervisor who have a comprehensive knowledge of accommodation management as well as cleaning,” said Chris Crocker, ISS Business Development Manager, Cleaning, QLD.

Since being founded in 1987, Bond University has risen to become one of Australia’s leading tertiary education institutes. Featuring several prominent alumni, including Grant Hackett, Giaan Rooney and David Baxby, Bond University is world recognised for its prestigious bachelor and graduate programs.

As part of the new contract ISS has introduced a number of cleaning initiatives, such as the use of microfibre cleaning. Through the use of specially engineered cleaning cloths and materials, the amount of water and chemicals needed for use throughout the campus cleaning regime will be drastically reduced. ISS will also be supporting a student scholarship.

Charles Blinkworth, ISS CEO, said, “Although some of our competitors believe pricing to be the only consideration in winning a contract, ISS does not. We recognise that pricing is only one part of the total service offering. Bond University also recognises the importance of non-price elements, and together we successfully negotiated a number of initiatives”.
